Gopika Premsankar

I am an Academy of Finland postdoctoral researcher at University of Helsinki working with Prof. Sasu Tarkoma.

I graduated with a PhD in Computer Science from Aalto University in Finland under the supervision of Prof. Mario Di Francesco. I received my Master’s degree in Mobile Computing - Services and Security from Aalto University and my Bachelor’s degree from the National Institute of Technology Karnataka, Surathkal.

My research interests are in edge computing and wireless communications. In particular, I have worked on optimizing resource allocation, infrastructure placement, and wireless network parameters in large-scale networks and edge deployments. I model networked systems and design solutions that can be applied in practical, large-scale settings.

Sep 2021 I have joined the University of Helsinki as a postdoctoral researcher, funded by the Academy of Finland :sparkles:
May 2021 Our paper “Data-driven Energy Conservation in Cellular Networks: A Systems Approach” has been accepted in the IEEE Transactions on Network Service and Management. Pre-print available soon here.
Mar 2021 Happy to have given a (virtual) guest lecture on edge computing in Prof. Maria Gorlatova’s course at Duke University. Slides here.
Feb 2021 I have joined Ivey at University of Western Ontario as a postdoctoral researcher. Thanks to the Finnish Cultural Foundation :sparkles:
